About Batesville

Preservation has long been a way of life in Batesville, with many old families having maintained their homes beautifully over the generations.

Batesville is one of the oldest towns in Arkansas.  There were a few settlers here as early as 1812.

From 1830 to 1860 Batesville was one of the leading towns of the state, perhaps one of the most cosmopolitan places west of the Mississippi, between St. Louis and New Orleans.
